What Data We Collect
In the app
Location: used temporarily to provide aurora forecasts for your location. Not stored on our servers.
Device identifiers: used temporarily for push notifications and app functionality.
App usage and ad performance data: with your consent, we collect anonymised usage statistics through Google Analytics (Firebase) and measure advertising effectiveness through Meta (Facebook) SDK. No personal identification. No advertiser ID (IDFA) collected. You can withdraw consent anytime in app Settings.
On the website
Usage data: Squarespace collects basic analytics automatically as part of website operation.
Contact form: when you contact us via the website form, we collect your first name, last name, and email address solely to respond to your inquiry.
Email subscription: if you subscribe to our mailing list, we collect your email address to send you content related to aurora photography and the app. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send.
Analytics and ad measurement: with your consent, we use Google Analytics to analyse site traffic and Google services for advertising measurement and retargeting, and Meta Pixel to measure the performance of our ads and retarget visitors. Meta Pixel may associate your website visit with your Facebook profile if you are logged in to Facebook.
